Acknowledgments
The revision of Standards for Professional Learning was made possible by the partnership and support of three philanthropic funders: the Carnegie Corporation of New York, the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, and the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Philanthropies. Learning Forward appreciates their commitment to this initiative and their recognition of the importance of high-quality professional learning for all educators.
Learning Forward is also grateful to the following individuals and education associations and organizations for their participation in the standards revision process. The diversity of perspectives contributed to creating Standards for Professional Learning that will serve educators in building capacity to serve each student through leadership and equitable and rigorous teaching and learning. Thank you for generously dedicating your time and expertise to this process.

The research foundation for revised Standards for Professional Learning was strengthened immeasurably through Learning Forward’s work with researchers from the American Institutes for Research (AIR), in particular Rachel Garrett and Cortney Rowland, who conducted both a literature review and meta-analysis to contribute to the field’s understanding about the elements of effective professional learning.
Learning Forward is also grateful to the many educators who offered their extensive input on drafts of revised standards and associated tools, including role-based Innovation Configuration maps. Several learning leaders convened practitioner teams to explore draft resources and offer feedback so that standards and tools will meet the needs of practicing educators at all levels. Learning Forward recognizes and appreciates the time dedicated by members of Learning Forward affiliates, the Learning Forward Foundation, and Learning Forward’s senior consultants.
Thank you to the staff standards team: Denise Glyn Borders, Tracy Crow, Paul Fleming, Elizabeth Foster, and Machel Mills-Miles. Together this team facilitated a complex and productive process, engaged in fascinating, near-daily, conversations, and shared a commitment to continuous inquiry and excellence throughout the two years of this initiative. The final creation and production of Standards for Professional Learning relies on an expert team of professionals. Thank you to Kitty Black and Sue Chevalier for bringing their deep well of organizational and creative knowledge to this project. Thank you to Anthony Armstrong for always seeking innovative and responsive ways to offer web-based standards resources to Learning Forward’s stakeholders, and thanks also to the team at Journey Websites. Thank you to James McKibben for additional graphic design to clearly communicate complex concepts. Thank you to Stephanie Hirsh for ongoing support, great questions, and unique insights. And a huge thank you to Joellen Killion for jumping into Innovation Configuration map development one more time.
Finally, this project would not have been possible without the constant engagement, input, humor, and wisdom of all members of the Learning Forward staff. Thank you so much for your insights, questions, and collegial support throughout the revision of Standards for Professional Learning.
